It’s nice to get of of town and get some fresh carves in. It’s even better when you find out it took your friends as long to get to Bear and MT High as it did for you to get to Mammoth. Shot this with my T4 out the windshield on our way home and it pretty much encapsulates the whole trip. Perfect.

In the current theme that Motocross has become my life, we just got a sample of the new catalog in, Other than a few colors and papers being off it looks pretty good. This project took about 2 months which isn’t too bad considering it ended up being over 70 pages and I had to do just about everything in it (concept, design, layout, photography, graphics, copywriting, ect).

Just went live with evs-sports.com. This site is pretty extensive and has a ton of web 2.0 admin tools as well as integrating flash, video embedding, photo galleries, and downloads so it took a bit of thought and planning to design properly but I think it worked pretty good. Sonny helped out with the programming of the site and all i can say is he’s a genius. Soon I will integrate animated flash files into the main banners as well.

Just finished up (for now at least) strikelab.com. StrikeLab is a collective of very talented LA based designers, artists, and entrepreneurs I have the good fortune of bringing together. We’ve chosen to collect our work by client/project which I think helps show the complete process as opposed to 1 or 2 images from a project.

Just finished a little blog site for the Rad Girls. The Rad Girls are 3 pretty funny/wild girls who happen to have a TV show now in the 3rd season. The site’s fairly basic but has a good vibe. We will be adding a few more complicated features coming up but for now check it out at radgirls.tv.

Last night Nitro Circus featured a segment of my friend Mike Escamilla grinding a full loop. The segment was pretty neat but really didn’t show how gnarly this was, I’ve seen Mike do all sorts of crazy stunts like backfliping helicopters and this grind loop was by far the scariest. A few bruises and broken ribs later Mike actual completed the loop twice. Since it aired I guess it’s okay to put up some photos from the day after the jump.

About noon on Saturday Jared Souney sent me a text letting me know he was shooting a FMX contest at the LA Fair and I should come out. After a short surf session I grabbed a lens and made the drive to Pomona. The LA Fair, wow, is something you really need to expierence first hand, one of the most horrible amazing places ever. As far as the contest goes, it was short, there were multiple bike failures, it was REALLY dark, I hated my lens, but i still managed to grab a a few decent shots. You can see a few of the shots after the jump.

This is a first in a series of videos, EVS ORIGINALS, I’m creating for .I got to spend the day with Travis Pastrana at the Red Bull Compound as he prepared for the X-Games. I haven’t really messed with any color correction, sound, or compression settings yet. All of the footage was shot entirely with the Canon 5DMKII.

It’s been awhile since I posted photos so here are some of Travis Pastrana preparing for the X-Games. I spent 2 days out at the Red Bull compound shooting/filming with Travis while he was dialing in his 360flip. He had them pretty wired, I’m actually kinda shocked he didn’t pull it. Either way Travis is an amazing rider and is one of the nicest people you may ever meet. Hit more to see a few more photos.

Today something just clicked for me; I was pretty good at working with moving images and really enjoyed the process as well. So I decided I would work more with tv/film/video, got FCP 7, and then a few minutes ago I came across a video my friend Alicya(whose amazing) just finished that completely reaffirmed everything I like about moving images. I really enjoyed the vibe and colors and everything about this video.

After a long day of shooting Travis Pastrana in the desert I decided to head down to OC and shoot to the ASA BMX Triple’s Event. I wanted to test out the video on my 5DMKII and wasn’t let down. I did come across a few problems but also found a few solutions. To see the video in HD click here. I also shot a some photos but since Jared Souney was hogging all the flash I had to get a creative but again even in the low light I was pretty happy with a few of the results.
